You Were Made For More

Thought of the Week

You were made for more.

Imagine, for a moment, that you’re a baker. You have a very special person in your life, and you decide to make a beautiful cake for them. You source the finest ingredients, shape the cake to perfection, use fillings that tantalize the taste buds, and decorate the surface with intricate designs. You create a masterpiece. And you hope it will be enjoyed not just by your loved one but by everyone who has the chance to admire your glorious creation.

What if you presented the cake and it was refused? Or perhaps the cake is looked at briefly and then pushed off the table? Or worse yet, this one-of-a-kind creation is put back into its box and stashed away in a cupboard, never to be enjoyed?

It’s heartbreaking to even imagine. But do you believe this is happening every day? We take the beautiful and unique creation that we are and deny our Creator the satisfaction of seeing it fulfill its purpose.

God has created every person on this planet to be a masterpiece. He intends for our lives to be a reflection of His light and love. He made you to be enjoyed by yourself and by others. The life you have been given is a gift—a masterpiece to be enjoyed. Don’t settle for the floor or the cupboard. Use your life to bring glory to the Creator. You were made for more.

Know Him

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do good things He planned for us long ago.

- Ephesians 2:10 (NLT)
