What Is the Purpose of My Life?
“Your story in life up to this very moment is not an accident or a mistake, it all points to something more than you can imagine.”
Sooner or later, we all run into an important question: “What is the purpose of life?”
This is a perplexing question that can fill you with uncertainty, anxiety, and flat-out frustration; however, it can also set you free.
If you add one word to the question, it changes everything: “What is the purpose of my life?”
I am glad you asked.
God has created you on purpose. He has uniquely gifted you and has allowed you to walk through specific circumstances and life experiences. Your story in life up to this very moment is not an accident or a mistake, it all points to something more than you can imagine.
Unfortunately, our world is inundated with distractions and false narratives for your life. Each one is vying for your attention and trying to pull you towards a prize that promises you a sense of purpose. You are prompted to chase this prize and play a game that has no winners. Even when you feel like you have “won,” deep down inside there is a realization that the prize was worthless. A prize that brought fleeting victory, no real satisfaction, and no substantial meaning.
You have actually lost.
But what if you committed to change this pattern? What if you realized your unique purpose and rejected all the other “purposes” that the world threw at you? Things would be different, and you would be different. You would live in a space that felt like YOU. The life you live and the work you accomplish everyday would make you say, “YUP, this is me and this is what I was created to do!”
You would be in a space that you were destined for.
You wouldn’t experience just a season of happiness, but instead there would be a long-lasting difference in your life and the lives of those you interact with. Joy would abound, you would be living on purpose, and you would finally feel free.
So, back to the question you asked earlier, “What is the purpose of my life?”
The answer lies behind three simple steps:
Know Him
You need to know who God truly is and what brings Him joy.
Understand Yourself
You must understand how you have been uniquely wired, the gifts you possess, the talents you have, and the passions that live deep within.
Do His Work
Once you have an idea of who God is and how He uniquely created you, then, and only then, you can freely live and fulfill the work He has created you to do.
The answer to “What is the purpose of my life?” is not always an easy response and it will take you some time to realize it. But rest assured, you have been created to use your specific gifts, talents, passions, and experiences to make a difference in this world.
The steps to discover this unique purpose are simple, but they are not easy. You have to put in the hard work. You must make the decision to start living life on purpose. No one can do it for you. This is your life, and you are the one that must make the first move.
Are you ready to fulfill your unique purpose? Do you want to live a life that is filled with satisfaction and free from fear and anxiety?
Today is the day everything changes.
Are you ready to live on purpose?
You don’t have to figure this life out on your own. At YUP, we believe that our purpose is to encourage and support all people to fulfill the unique purpose God has given them. We are here to help along the way. Let’s go on this journey together.
